The Delta Radio group was born on the 30th of August 1997 at Agropoli in the province of Salerno in South West Italy. It was a beautiful day at our friend Oreste's (ex. 1 DR 004) house where the landscape of the village inspired our new idea. We had spoken many times during our stay about our wonderful hobby, RADIO and DXing. We all agreed on the fact that radio means friendship and not competition with other operators. This is why we decided to found a group in which all are friends and each one of us is important. After many changes we decided the right name: DELTA RADIO or better DX Radio Operators' Group. The name explains that we do not want to be either the best nor special, but just simple operators that know how to use radio in a correct and professional way. First of all, we decided to write the regulations of the group in order to know right from the beginning, how our organization is, to avoid future misunderstandings. During the following frenetic days we started building the bases of our new dream: QSL projects, activities, magazine in English and Italian, internet web site, membership forms and other things that you will be able to appreciate if you decide to follow our enthusistic growth. Now the DELTA RADIO group is an official gorup. It is famous and known all over the world, but the spirit and the enthusiasm of the beginings is already the same. For this reason it continues to spread the ideals of respect and friendship and offers to its members quality services. AND NOW IT IS UP TO YOU!.......and the story continues.
